Philanthropy

Les Dames d'Escoffier is the only organization of its kind: a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality whose mission is education, advocacy and philanthropy. The Houston Chapter supports local non-profit organizations and offers scholarships to female culinary students attending Houston City College and Culinary Institute Lenotre.

Scholarships and Deadlines

The Houston chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier International (lDEI) is now accepting scholarship applications for post- high school studies in the 2018-2019 school year. The financial program is designed to assist Houston area women who are pursuing an education in the food/culinary arts, wine, hospitality and agriculture industries.

Financial Support

our chapter supports Recipe For Success, a non-profit organization which partners with local public schools to educate children about nutrition and gardening for part of our GreenTables initiative.

Our members volunteer as teaching chefs, adopting a class which they teach monthly throughout the school year. We have also adopted the MacGregor Elementary School to provide funding needed for their Seed-to-Plate program in which students grow fruits and vegetables in the school's garden and learn to appreciate and use the produce in the cooking classes.

To date, LDEI Houston's fundraising initiatives have raised over $100,000, with most of those proceeds dedicated to providing scholarships to women pursuing a professional culinary career.
